Though its flow is disjointed, it’s clear that Meghan Trainor is having the moment she’s deserved since the release of Title with Takin’ It Back.

Starting the album on an odd note is the Scott Hoying of Pentatonix feature “Sensitive.” It’s a bold choice to have the first song on a non-acapella album be acapella, but luckily her follow-up is mighty strong. The album has a few different genres and though fun, “Mama Wanna Mambo” feels extremely out of place.

However, most of the album is magic. From the ultra-catchy TikTok viral “Made You Look” to the honest wife and mother take on “Superwoman,” there are tracks here that are pop perfection. Trainor has always sounded fantastic with a vintage vibe and “While You’re Young” is that track.

Final song: Takin’ back her place in pop music. ★★★★☆
