By being the highest charting album for RuPaul, this goes down in herstory for its many bops.
None of the songs on here are groundbreaking, but that doesn’t matter. RuPaul’s fanbase isn’t looking for deeply affecting music from her, but they are looking for something that will make them feel good when they sing along. And that is what she provides.
Among the best are the titular “Born Naked,” which has a solid message about how everyone is always in drag because we put on looks each day to be perceived a certain way. And then “Sissy That Walk” is notable for its placement on season 6 of Drag Race where it was featured in the semi-finals with Bianca Del Rio, Adore Delano, Courtney Act and Darienne Lake.
Final say: Can I get an amen? ★★★★☆
