Mindy Kaling’s brilliant show that breaks Asian stereotypes and has an incredibly diverse cast returns with a second season that is just as messy as the first – not that we’d want it any other way.
Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) begins dating both Paxton (Darren Barnet) and Ben (Jaren Lewison) to have fun before her mom (Poorna Jagannathan) moves them back to India. Devi also encounters a new Indian girl at school, Aneesa (Megan Suri), who may be more of a threat than a friend.
Though potentially a bit smarter with her words than the average teen, Devi continues to feel like an actual teen who makes bad decisions and goes through heartbreak. Ramakrishnan plays her perfectly and provides one of the best teen characters ever seen on TV.
Final say: Never have I ever loved a show so much. ★★★★★
