Following the slow burn first season of Hulu’s original series, the second season of The Path is explosive from start to finish.
After Steve’s (Keir Dullea) death, Eddie (Aaron Paul) is exiled from the Meyerist Movement as a denier while Cal (Hugh Dancy) and Sarah (Michelle Monaghan) take over as co-Guardians of the Light. But when put under pressure, all three begin making choices that go against their grain.
Monaghan and Dancy perfectly portray their dangerously flawed characters. One moment you believe their good-natured abilities and the next you are seething from their deceit.
Some secondary storylines are left unfinished with questions left to be answered and while it looks like some of that will be expanded in the third season, others will be left to viewers to decide.
Final say: Going toward the right path. ★★★★☆
