A tribute to the forms of sitcoms from black and white television to today, WandaVision isn’t just a Marvel spectacle, it’s a love letter to television.
After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) are living an idyllic life with their sons Billy (Julian Hilliard) and Tommy (Jett Klyne) in New Jersey. As they move through decades of television tropes, Wanda realizes all may not be what it seems.
As the first of the Marvel television shows featuring its main Avengers, there was a lot riding on this show – and it doesn’t disappoint. Each decade of sitcom is brilliantly acted and represented. Olsen beautifully embodies the housewives through the decades, while Kathryn Hahn portrays the perfect next-door neighbor.
Bringing in other Marvel characters and shocking twists make this thrilling TV.
Final say: Modern nostalgia. ★★★★★
