With the Avengers seemingly defeated after Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) fatal snap in Infinity War, everything is put on the line in this phenomenally acted and directed finale.
Five years after Thanos’ snap, the remaining Avengers – led by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans) – figure out how to reverse the effects. Together, they form teams in hopes to save the world, but face-off against Thanos again.
Getting to know these characters over multiple films brings a heightened sense of emotion. Marvel has always known how to perfectly balance action, comedy and emotion – and this film is the pinnacle of that.
The most-underrated star of the series – who has dual roles in this film – is Karen GIllan as the emotionally and ethically torn Nebula.
Final say: A stunning and worthy conclusion to this 22-film series. ★★★★★
