With the incredibly stylized world that you expect from a Tim Burton production and a stellar performance from lead Jenna Ortega, Wednesday is a perfect binge that the whole family can watch.
After being expelled from her school, Wednesday Addams (Ortega) is sent to Nevermore Academy. When she discovers a killing monster, she begins to investigate against the wishes of Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie).
Ortega couldn’t have been a better choice to play Wednesday. She expertly embodies the darkness but allows moments of emotions to come through that humanize the character. The entire younger cast is fun to watch.
Older fans of The Addams Family will enjoy the show, while a new generation is introduced to the classic family. The addition of Christina Ricci from the ‘90s films creates a great link of nostalgia.
Final say: Dark and fun. ★★★★★
