By taking the frightening elements and main protagonist of Alien and putting them in a similar, yet new storyline, Aliens is a fantastic sequel that remains true to its predecessor but forges its own road to becoming a sci-fi classic.
Fifty-seven years after her first alien encounter, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is brought out of hyper sleep to discover she’s needed as an adviser to go back to the moon LV-426 where communication has been lost with its colonists.
Weaver is just as fantastic here as she was in the original film and gets to play more emotionally with the addition of a young girl named Newt (Carrie Henn). By adding tons of the Xenomorphs, anxiety levels rise in both the characters and the audience.
Final say: This is what a sequel should be. ★★★★★
