In the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, it may seem like the star-level is lower, but those who shine are top tier.
Shenanigans are afoot from the beginning of the season. Derrick Barry and India Ferrah bring in drama from their Las Vegas careers. Alexis Mateo is accused of campaigning against Shea Couleé. And, multiple queens seem to check out before they’re voted out.
This season the stakes are upped as well. With just one winner each week, the group also votes for who should go home. Their vote is announced if a secret lip sync assassin beats the weekly winner.
Challenges could be better, but all of the top three shine throughout the entire competition. At least we can continue to count on Jujubee for fantastic commentary.
Final say: Some stars. ★★★☆☆
