Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae are a comedic match made in heaven and make a less than stellar script into a hilarious adventure with The Lovebirds.

Jibran (Nanjiani) and Leilani (Rae) are going through a rough patch in their relationship and decide to break up. While they make that decision in their car, they hit a biker and become involved with a larger crime. They work together to clear their names but continue to create more issues.

At times, the script feels rushed with plot points passing by without really hitting the viewers. Despite this, Nanjiani and Rae are so on it with their comedy that you tend to forget about the lack of storyline. The pair play off each other so well that you’ll be rolling with laughter.

Final say: Love the cast, not the movie. ★★★☆☆
