There’s never a dull moment in the Marvel universe, and it seemed inevitable to get a show with our favorite heroes. What If…? introduces fates not seen in the films for a new story all its own.

The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) oversees the multiverses and shows viewers an alternate dimension in each universe. Through eight different stories, worlds combine to have a team of Avengers fight off Ultron (Ross Marquand) who is now in possession of all the Infinity Stones.

The animation makes the story feel more like a comic book than traditional 2D animation would, but not quite to the level where Into the Spiderverse succeeded. However, almost all the original actors of the characters portrayed were able to return, which makes it feel more authentic to the universe.

Final say: What if this plays into future films? ★★★★☆
