In its second season, The Golden Girls continues to create immense laughter, though there are a few bumps along the way.
Blanche (Rue McClanahan) questions the way she looks as she gets older, Dorothy (Bea Arthur) goes through issues with her pestering ex-husband Stan (Herb Edelman), Rose (Betty White) looks for a life change after a health scare and Sophia (Estelle Getty) has an off reunion with her sister Angela (Nancy Walker).
While there’s a lot of tension throughout this season, controversial topics are covered for the time including illegal immigration, prostitution and a hostage situation.
The finale of this season is a letdown of a back-door pilot to Empty Nest as you hardly get to see the main cast of The Golden Girls in the episode.
Final say: It’ll leave you wanting a bit more harmony under their roof. ★★★★☆
