Set shortly after the events of the first season, season two of Mindhunter focuses in on a major plot while still brilliantly – and terrifyingly – bringing serial killers to the forefronts with their interviews.
With their growing expertise inside the minds of serial killers, FBI special agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) are sent to Atlanta to help investigate the killing of children. Psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) and special agent Gregg Smith (Joe Tuttle) continue the Behavioral Science Unit in Washington, D.C.
A new group of murderers are introduced and the most interesting episode – for both the characters and the viewer – comes when Holden and Bill interview Charles Manson (Damon Herriman) and his follower Tex Watson (Christopher Backus).
The Atlanta murders keep your interest and the information revealed at the end is chilling.
Final say: Mind-twisting. ★★★★★
