A cute romantic comedy, Prime has a more realistic feel to it than most that fall in the same genre.

Photographer Rafi (Uma Thurman) is going through a divorce at the age of 37 and divulges her life details to her therapist Lisa (Meryl Streep). When Rafi falls for 23-year-old David (Bryan Greenberg), Lisa is initially encouraging of Rafi seeing a younger man – that is until Lisa finds out that the man is David, her son.

Streep is a joy to watch after she finds out that Rafi is seeing her son. She teeters on the line of morality and watching her struggle will have you cringing and cracking up. Greenberg plays the sexy, yet mature younger man very well but as much as he tries, the romance isn’t returned correctly by Thurman.

Final say: Wise, but awkward. ★★★☆☆
