Moving from a small town with little queer representation to a big city where being gay is universally accepted, Jay’s Gay Agenda shows readers how messy life can get even when you have what you want.
When Jay Collier’s parents tell him they’re moving from rural Riverton to the big city of Seattle, Jay is thrilled because it means he’ll be exposed to more queer culture than ever before. Though sad to leave his best friend Lu and what that means for their friendship, Jay is taken under Max’s wing as he navigates his Gay Agenda.
There’s something about Jay that just makes you cheer for him. Even when he’s being messy and you can anticipate the blow ups that will inevitably happen, Jay’s an underdog that you want to see experience life.
Final say: Put this on your agenda. ★★★★☆
