Except for a few feuds, there’s less cattiness in the work room on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. But that doesn’t mean there’s any less drama.

Season four introduces us to the scary – and now controversial – Sharon Needles, the perfect Cher impersonator Chad Michaels, everyone’s favorite Latrice Royale and the then-controversial Willam. These personalities are larger than life and drive the season.

The challenges this season are less than thrilling. With it being election year, there was a debate added that luckily had Michaels jazz it up. The “Dragazines” and “Queens Behind Bars” also showed nothing memorable.

Interestingly, this season also had two straight male guest judges – Rick Fox and John Salley – during the wrestling challenge. Neither of these former athletes were wrestlers and their commentary didn’t add anything.

Final say: This season was scarier than Sharon Needles. ★★★☆☆
