The Thing About Harry is cute and romantic, but it will also make you want to pull your hair out with its familiar storyline that has a predictable ending.

To please a friend, Sam (Jake Borelli) takes a road trip home and brings his former high school bully Harry (Niko Terho) along with him. Sam, who’s openly gay, is shocked to find out that Harry identifies as bisexual. Over a few years, Harry and Sam share a connection but never quite meet-up at the right time.

Showcasing quite a When Harry Met Sally… vibe, it is fantastic to see this common rom-com trope happen with an LGBTQ+ couple at its center. Both characters’ sexualities are revealed early on, so there’s no long coming out story and you just get to see how they connect.

Final say: The thing is good. ★★★☆☆
