The queens have returned in this first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race spinoff where non-winners of the past compete again for a place in the Drag Race Hall of Fame.

Featuring 12 queens from the first four seasons of the show, RuPaul drops a bomb that the contestants will have to work together in pairs to compete for the crown.

While some of the queens get their chance to truly grow and shine, there are others who feel too one-note. (Not-so-spoiler alert!) Eventual winner Chad Michaels is amongst the top but his shtick as Cher lingers too much in the background to make him feel like winning material.

The guest judges are great, and Vicki Lawrence particularly stands out for reprising her role as Mama from The Carol Burnett Show.

Final say: Believe in life after elimination. ★★★☆☆
