Bombshell is perhaps the greatest show to never make it to Broadway or Off-Broadway. Luckily, the show originated on Smash received a one-night only concert.

Marilyn Monroe (Megan Hilty & Katharine McPhee) is an icon cemented in celebrity and scandal. Her life is given the close-up from childhood to death in a musical that shows both her emotional and playful sides.

As in Smash, Hilty & McPhee trade off the role of Marilyn, but they’re always the best when onstage together. The opening number, “Let Me Be Your Star,” is show-stopping on its own and is just the beginning.

The cast from the NBC series reprises their stage roles and gives Debra Messing a narrating role, while also providing Jeremy Jordan – who was not in Bombshell on Smash – a number of his own.

Final say: Get this show on Broadway! ★★★★★
