Continuing right where season one left off, The Umbrella Academy continues to develop its strong characters and proves to be a great comedy while still mastering the action.
When the Umbrella Academy jumps into the time portal, they become scattered throughout the early 1960s. Once they ban together, Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) has to figure out to how get them back in time while Diego (David Castañeda) tries to save President John F. Kennedy from being assassinated.
The new season introduces great additions to the cast, namely Ritu Arya as the mysterious Lila. But it’s the social commentary from the 1960s about Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman) being a black person in segregated Texas and Vanya (Elliot Page) falling in love with Sissy (Marin Ireland) that really cements the heart of the season.
Final say: A wild ride that you’ll consistently enjoy. ★★★★☆
