Long criticized for every move that she made, multi-Grammy winning artist Taylor Swift uses Miss Americana to state her opinions and show how she’s grown from a country girl to a pop icon.
This documentary opens fans up to the more personal parts of Swift’s life, including her former eating disorder and her mother’s cancer battle. The two most interesting parts of her story come when she speaks about her sexual assault trial and its importance to her, as well as breaking her silence on her political views. Swift is unafraid to speak her mind, especially when it’s something she strongly cares about.
Viewers also get a peek into her creative process as she works on her sixth and seventh studio albums, Reputation and Lover. Her emotional journey plays into both.
Final say: A role model to follow. ★★★★★
