It’s arguable that some of the best songs ever written have come from Disney movies and anyone raised these songs know they’ve had a major impact on their lives. This compilation features some of the best songs from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937 to Tarzan in 1999.
The songs chosen for this album are the best from their movies, though there are some surprises, including “Just Around the Riverbend” from Pocahontas instead of the more well-known “Colors of the Wind.”
Until the switch-up of Cinderella’s “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo” and Peter Pan’s “You Can Fly!,” the songs go in descending order of the film’s release date. It’s curious why that flow is disrupted at the end, but it may have been better to intersperse the songs so it’s not just more current to old.
Final say: Truly great. ★★★★☆
