Female friendship is at the core of this film and from the first moments, you can sense the fantastic chemistry that lead actors Gina Rodriguez, Brittany Snow and DeWanda Wise share.

On the verge of turning 30 and moving away for a new job, Jenny (Rodriguez) and her boyfriend of nine years Nate (Lakeith Stanfield) break up. Jenny’s best friends Blair (Snow) and Erin (Wise) come to her aid.

The tone of the film goes through some jumpy ups and downs as Jenny processes her breakup but it reflects true heartbreak.  Rodriguez shows her range as she flows from sadness to being drunk to the happy flashbacks.

Though the film is primarily focused on Jenny and Nate’s relationship, you’ll also be invested in Blair and Erin’s love lives as well making them more than supporting characters.

Final say: Something great. ★★★★☆
