Though monumental as the first live-action film to feature Batman and Superman together, Dawn of Justice is nothing that comic book fans – or just general Batman and Superman fans – will enjoy.
Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) pits Batman (Ben Affleck) in a battle against Superman (Henry Cavill) as they both fight for what they think is right.
This is the first time we’re seeing Affleck portray Batman and he couldn’t be further from the Christian Bale portrayal before him. He just doesn’t feel right – and his Batman voice is laughable. Eisenberg is also a distraction as his acting seems more in line with the Joker than it does Lex Luthor.
The film takes itself too seriously and gives traits to the characters that we’ve never seen before. Batman kills a lot of people and Superman seems to only care for Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and not humanity.
Final say: No one wins this fight. ★☆☆☆☆
