With Tina Fey’s hilarious screenplay and a perfect cast, Mean Girls is an instantly iconic film.
After being homeschooled all her life, Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) transitions into high school where she realizes she has no idea what’s going on. Her friends Janis (Lizzy Caplan) and Damian (Daniel Franzese) convince her to take down queen bee Regina George (Rachel McAdams).
Everyone in the main cast fits their roles perfectly and has memorable moments. McAdams and Amanda Seyfried shine in earlier roles in their careers, while Saturday Night Live alums Fey, Amy Poehler and Tim Meadows all use their comedic strengths.
Mean Girls demonstrates what bullying can look like in school and how women need to stick up for each other. Fey’s script was ahead of its time, which is why it’s still just as popular today.
