Following the lead of its predecessor, Pitch Perfect 2 keeps up the comedic antics and is full of stellar music providing star and producer Elizabeth Banks a fantastic directorial debut.

After Fat Amy’s (Rebel Wilson) mishap, The Barden Bellas are suspended from competition, but Beca (Anna Kendrick) makes a deal that they can be reinstated in they win the World Championship, but with graduation nearing the Bellas need to plan for the future.

Almost every character from the first film returns here with new additions including Hailee Steinfeld as a freshman legacy Bella and Chrissie Fit as Flo, an immigrant with a laughably grim but realistic outlook on life.

Unfortunately, this sequel loses some of the magic of the first by stinting the humor while upping the scale of the film.
