Not many shows are full of the quirkiness that Pushing Daisies is, and if they even try to get close, they fail unlike this great one.
Piemaker Ned (Lee Pace) has the power to touch something dead and bring it back to life for a minute before something else dies in its place. He helps private investigator Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) solve cases, but keeps his childhood love Chuck (Anna Friel) alive despite his rule to send dead things back to death.
Everything about this show is bright. The colors of the landscapes and costumes pop out, and the characters shine just as much. Kristin Chenoweth portrays lovesick waitress Olive Snook to perfection and adds the perfect amount of drama to the tight-knit threesome of Emerson, Ned and Chuck.
Final say: A different taste, but one you’ll want more of. ★★★★★
