With the spirit of Christmas fully intact, Elf is one of the funniest and most heartwarming holiday films out there.

When Buddy the Elf (Will Ferrell) finds out he is actually a human, he travels to New York City to find his real father Walter Hobbs (James Caan). Though the two don’t see eye to eye, they’ll have to work together to help Santa Claus (Ed Asner) and save Christmas.

Ferrell is hilarious in the lead role with high energy level that fits Buddy perfectly.

There’s messages of family and acceptance that are perfect for the holidays. While Emily (Mary Steenburgen) and Michael (Daniel Tay) accept Buddy as family from the start, it takes a while for Walter to get on the same level.

Final say: Family time can be rough during the holidays, but it’s them that matters most. ★★★★★
