Deviating from the source material and losing director Steven Spielberg, Jurassic Park III has some shiny qualities and is better than its predecessor, but still does not live up to the original.
Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) is tricked by Paul (William H. Macy) and Amanda Kirby (Téa Leoni) into helping find their lost son Eric (Trevor Morgan), who went missing on a trip with his stepfather Ben (Mark Harelik), on the dinosaur island Isla Sorna.
There is less emphasis on developing the human characters in this film than the others. Paul and Amanda are easily unlikable characters with Leoni spending the majority of the film yelling in one way or another.
The climax of the film is also the most unbelievable, but some of the dinosaur interactions are among the best in the trilogy.
Final say: An unfortunate ending. ★★★☆☆
