Released: September 25, 2015
By: Thomas Rhett
Thomas Rhett proves that he’s a country artist all his own as he treads the line of country and pop unlike his competitors.
His first single on the album, “Crash and Burn” is a pretty straight-forward country song, but is a smart move that let him become more well-known by country audiences before releasing songs that push those boundaries. His duets with pop/R&B stars Jordin Sparks and Lunchmoney Lewis show how he can jump genres.
Perhaps the best song on the album is “Die a Happy Man.” A beautiful song written for his wife, it talks about how no matter what happens, he can die a happy man as long as he’s with her. It’s a career-defining song that will continue to follow him.
Final say: This proves Rhett is one of the most underrated country performers of all-time. ★★★★☆
