In this collection of short stories, author Bernard Evslin brings Greek heroes, gods and monsters to life for new audiences.
For centuries, Greek mythology has permeated the arts through literature and film. Readers will be familiar with most of the names, even if they’re not quite knowledgeable about the stories.
Most of the stories about the gods and monsters are very short with many only lasting only three to four pages. You’ll find yourself wishing that there was more to it. But when you get to the heroes, the stories last longer.
It’s interesting to learn more about these characters and how their traits have affected our language and culture today. And with its fast pace, you won’t feel like you’re getting a history lesson.
Final say: Mythology continues to enchant while being informative. ★★★★☆
