While this show had a lot of potential, the mixture of its elements makes for a truly cringe-worthy first season.
Ulysses (Avan Jogia) live in LA with his screenwriter roommate Ford (Beau Mirchoff) and is best friends with struggling actress Carly (Kelli Berglund). When he sees aliens, no one believes him, but he continues to research them and look for an answer.
This feels like two distinctly different shows. The sci-fi half with the aliens is truly horrible with a cheap-looking alien that does nothing to frighten the viewer. This takes away from the much-better storyline of struggling artists in LA, which while overacted feels honest.
Jogia and Mirchoff are both great in their roles, but Berglund is the best of the cast and makes you sympathize with her even in her worst moments.
Final say: The apocalypse has never looked worse. ★★☆☆☆
