Film: Frozen

Opened: November 22, 2013

Directed by: Chris Buck & Jennifer Lee

Starring: Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Santino Fontana, Alan Tudyk & Ciarán Hinds

The highest grossing animated film of all time (as of February 2019), Frozen shows the power of love and sisterhood.

When Elsa (Idina Menzel) is crowned Queen of Arendelle, her powers of creating ice and snow from her hands are revealed to the kingdom. She accidentally freezes all the land and flees out of fear. Her sister Anna (Kristen Bell) goes on a search to bring her home.

Featuring amazing vocal performances by Bell and three Tony nominees (Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad & Santino Fontana), none can match the popularity of Tony-winner Menzel as Elsa. Her song “Let it Go” became an instant Disney classic.

The best thing is that this film redefines what true love is. There are several points where it could’ve fallen into the typical Disney equation, but pulls some surprise twists.

Final say: An animated achievement. ★★★★★
