After the intensity of season 1, it seemed The Handmaid’s Tale couldn’t get any better. However, the creative team rose to the challenge and made an even scarier second season.
June/Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is pregnant with Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) and Fred’s (Joseph Fiennes) baby. We get to see more of June’s past and how Gilead has affected her and her family. At the same time, we learn more about Serena and Fred. While they helped build Gilead, they still have reservations about some things.
The drama is even more intense. You’ll have moments when you question all the decisions June is making – especially in the finale – but you also know she is doing everything she can to survive.
There are even more ethical questions about Gilead, but it’ll keep you hooked.
Final say: A mind-blowing season. ★★★★☆
