The second season of FOX’s hit comedy returns with more laughs and clever quips than its first iteration.
Jake (Andy Samberg) returns to the 9-9 and begins a relationship with defense lawyer Sophia Perez (Eva Longoria) while Amy (Melissa Fumero) is also in a relationship. Holt’s (Andre Braugher) arch-nemesis Madelyn Wuntch (Kyra Sedgwick) returns and gives him a run for his money.
Introducing Sedgwick as a recurring character and having her spar off against Braugher is absolutely brilliant. Any time their two characters are in the same room, you are guaranteed to crack up.
This seasons focuses on many different relationships and all of them have their quirks. Gina (Chelsea Peretti) and Charles’ (Joe Lo Truglio) is the best developed and executed.
Final say: Funny to the core. ★★★★★
