In this second season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series, the events leading up to the murder of fashion icon Gianni Versace are explored.
Over a three-month period in the late 1990s, Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss) murdered at least five people, ending with Gianni Versace (Édgar Ramrírez) outside of his mansion in Miami.
One of the most interesting parts of this season is the timeline in which the story is told. It starts at the Versace murder and works its way back in reverse chronological order to show you what led Cunanan to his murder spree.
Murphy-favorite Criss leads the ensemble cast in a career-defining performance. He is frighteningly believable and fits the racial profile being half-Filipino. All the acclaim he’s gotten is deserved.
Final say: One of the best TV seasons of 2018. ★★★★★
