Originally opening on Broadway over 50 years ago, this revival of Hello, Dolly! proves why it’s continually brought back to entertain audiences.
Widow Dolly Gallagher Levi (Bernadette Peters) is an expert matchmaker and she has her work cut out for her with Horace Vandergelder (Victor Garber). Dolly makes it her mission to match him with the best woman she knows – herself.
Peters is a Broadway icon and has never been better than in this role. While she brings the comedy that’s needed (seriously just watching her eat is hilarious), she also brings an incredible amount of emotion. She and Garber are the perfect team, often entertaining themselves just as much as the audience.
The show is on the brink of perfection with incredible vocals, choreography and comedic timing.
Final say: Hello, Dolly! is back where it belongs. ★★★★★
