The trailers for this movie didn’t look great, so it wasn’t a surprise when the movie wasn’t great either.
Katie Price (Bella Thorne) is stuck inside due to xeroderma pigmentosum – a disease that makes sunlight deadly to her skin. She’s been homeschooled by her father (Rob Riggle) and has only one friend (Quinn Shephard). When she goes out one night, she quickly falls for Charlie (Patrick Schwarzenegger).
Unfortunately, no chemistry exists between Thorne and Schwarzenegger making their romance hard to believe. Her disease is portrayed inaccurately with the movie vying to be a The Fault in Our Stars type, when it’s anything but.
Even the most dramatic parts made me laugh because of how awkward everything was portrayed.
Final say: Let the sun go down on this one. ★☆☆☆☆
