Released: April 6, 2018
By: Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Don Henley, Vince Gill, Brothers Osborne, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack, Kacey Musgraves, Rhonda Vincent, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Dierks Bentley, Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris & Willie Nelson
The album was released on the same day as Revamp, which was the work of John, while Taupin put this together. The reimagining of the songs here brings more spirit and soul than on the other album.
Little Big Town starts the album with their always-incredible four-part harmony on “Rocket Man.” Other highlights include Maren Morris’ “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters,” Brothers Osborne’s “Take Me to the Pilot” and Rhonda Vincent and Dolly Parton’s “Please.”
The only song that feels out of place is Miley Cyrus’ “The Bitch Is Back.” However, it brings some energy to the album and lets Cyrus explore her country roots.
Final say: Nashville brilliantly takes on John’s music. ★★★★☆
