Season 2 and Jane’s (Gina Rodriguez) had a baby, but is still a virgin. Straight out of a telenovela, right?
In this season, Jane is still on the fence about whether she’s in love with Michael (Brett Dier) or Rafael (Justin Baldoni). But, by the end of the season, she’ll have chosen one. Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) still have a crazy relationship. And, Petra’s (Yael Grobglas) long-lost twin shows up.
At the same time, tough and sensitive subjects are hit. Alba (Ivonne Coll) goes through issues being an illegal immigrant facing deportation. While much of this show is over-the-top drama and comedy, this is one storyline that feels relevant and emotional.
The antics are absolutely crazy, but so addicting and fun to watch.
Final say: Just as funny as the first season. ★★★★☆
