Film: Call Me By Your Name

Opened: November 24, 2017

Directed by: Luca Guadagnino

Starring: Armie Hammer, Timothée Chalamet, Michael Sthulbarg, Amira Casar & Esther Garrel

Never have I come out of a film feeling so happy and in love with the story shown.

Elio (Timothée Chalamet) experiences romantic feelings with the American graduate student, Oliver (Armie Hammer), that’s living with his family in Italy over the summer. What starts between them is a romance that they know must be brief and kept quiet.

There is such beautiful relationship and chemistry built between Chalamet and Hammer that you’d believe they were in love in real life as well. They play off each other and sparkle whenever they share the screen together. You won’t see as much of the angst in Elio as is read in the André Acimannovel, but that’s better at times.

The Italian cinematography is absolutely gorgeous and vibrates off the screen.

Final say: A love story for the ages. ★★★★★
