Film: The Santa Clause

Opened: November 11, 1994

Directed by: John Pasquin

Starring: Tim Allen, Eric Lloyd, Wendy Crewson, Judge Reinhold, David Krumholtz, Paige Tamada & Peter Boyle

I’ve been watching this movie every Christmas since I can remember and it never loses its spirit.

Charlie Calvin (Eric Lloyd) is unhappily spending Christmas with his dad, Scott (Tim Allen), when all of a sudden he hears Santa on the roof. When Scott goes to check it out, Santa falls off the roof. Scott puts on the suit and becomes Santa, though Charlie’s mom and stepdad (Wendy Crewson & Judge Reinhold) are worried about how that might affect their son.

Allen is hilarious in this film without trying. The nice thing for families is that there is humor for both children and adults.

For kids, there’s something magical about this movie as well, thinking that your dad could become Santa. Everyone will be transported to the magical world of the North Pole.

Final say: A joy for all ages. ★★★★★
