If you want a bit of scandalous history in your life full of politics and sex, then this is for you.
The Tudors follows the life and times of King Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) from his early days to his death. This includes his separation from the Catholic Church in attempt to dissolve his marriage with Katherine of Aragon (Maria Doyle Kennedy) in order to marry Anne Boleyn (Natalie Dormer).
The first two seasons are when the show is at its best with Kennedy and Dormer as the two queens. Both actresses had a commanding quality and when their characters’ time ends, you’re left wanting more.
Unfortunately, the final two seasons aren’t as captivating as the first two, but it’s still interesting to watch for a bit of a history lesson.
Final say: At least watch until Anne’s beheading. ★★★☆☆
