Broadway Revival Cast: Jeff Daniels & Michelle Williams
Though I’m not usually one for a two-person show set in one location, this was quite an explosive work with all-star performances.
When she was 13, Una (Michelle Williams) had an sexual relationship with 40-year-old Ray (Jeff Daniels). Now 15 years later, Una has tracked Ray down to confront him about their affair and why he left her.
The entire show takes place in the conference room of an office area, so there is very little to the set. The lighting is the harsh fluorescent lighting that you come to expect of a cold, corporate office, but it works perfectly with the harsh conversation the characters are having.
Playwright David Harrower wrote an incredibly intriguing show that will have you continuing to question each character’s motives as the plot thickens.
Final say: Expect to have conflicting feelings about the characters. ★★★★☆
