Starring: Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally & Sean Hayes
Will & Grace is one of the most important shows the LGBT community has ever had. When it premiered, there were few shows with gay characters, especially in the lead roles.
Set in New York City, Will (Eric McCormack) is a gay lawyer who lives with his best friend Grace (Debra Messing), who is a Jewish interior designer. Working for Grace is the alcoholic socialite Karen (Megan Mullally) and Will’s friend Jack (Sean Hayes) is a struggling actor. Like any other sitcom, together they face the struggles of life.
This show is absolutely hilarious (except for the final episode) and all four leads have the Emmys to prove it. But, the main thing is the ground this show broke in normalizing gay characters into everyday life. It wasn’t heavy and it was funny.
Final say: Get ready to crack up. ★★★★★
