Music: Sometime Last Night

Released: July 10, 2015

By R5

R5 is one of those bands that deserve more attention, but don’t have the right fan base. The too young demographic comes from Ross Lynch’s fame from his time on Disney Channel on Austin & Ally and in Teen Beach Movie.

This record has quite the rock-pop vibe with lyrics that are far more relevant for 20-something crowd than its tween fans. Riker Lynch says the band found a lot of inspiration for this in Fall Out Boy, a comparison that I see fit.

The album feels very cohesive with all of the tracks flowing together, rather than a couple strong singles. Check out highlights like the funky “Dark Side,” the slower jam “F.E.E.L.G.O.O.D.” and the head-banging “All Night.”

Final say: Forget the Disney background and listen to this album. ★★★☆☆
