With a beautiful storyline that’s told over multiple decades, This is Us is an ensemble family show that’s needed.
Jack and Rebecca (Milo Ventimiglia & Mandy Moore) go to the hospital to have triplets and return home with three, just not the three they were expecting. Kevin (Justin Hartley) hates his acting journey, his sister Kate (Chrissy Metz) unexpectedly falls for someone and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) connects with his birth father (Ron Cephas Jones).
The writers of this series brilliantly combine comedy and drama to make a show that will keep you smiling even as you’re sobbing. Though an ensemble cast can be difficult to balance, each storyline feels like it gets the love it deserves and is acted incredibly by a cast of acting vets and newer faces.
Final say: Get a few boxes of tissues ready. ★★★★★
