Despite already coming to Broadway as a limited run, The Little Prince became even more limited after opening to negative reviews – which were all rightfully earned.

When an aviator (Aurélien Bednarek) crashes his plane in the desert, he’s visited by the little prince (Lionel Zalachas) who tells about his journeys to many planets.

It’s clear from the start that this show was trying to have a Cirque du Soleil vibe, but it never comes to be. With as expansive as the stage is – New York’s Broadway Theatre has one of the largest prosceniums – it looks bad only having one to two performers on at a time because of the amount of dead space.

The storyline is hard to follow and the subtitles on the sides of the stage distract from the action happening onstage.

Final say: Easily dethroned. ★☆☆☆☆
