In a performance that’s over-the-top, Jessica Chastain continues to prove why she is one of the best actresses of our time in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
From the time they met in college, Tammy Faye Grover (Chastain) and Jim Bakker (Andrew Garfield) are inseparable and want to spread the love of God to the world. With their puppet show for kids, they join Pat Robertson (Gabriel Olds) at the Christian Broadcasting Network. But soon, the couple creates the Praise the Lord network.
It’s exciting to watch Chastain transform into the Tammy Faye that the world is familiar with. Her hair and makeup team gradually makes her look more and more intense.
There are parts that could go deeper and will leave you wanting more.
Final say: Not quite on the brink of a miracle. ★★★☆☆
