A Christmas classic that is no doubt on most people’s watchlist every holiday season, Home Alone is a fun film for the whole family.

The McCallister family is getting ready to take a trip to Paris over the holidays. The night before their flight, Kate (Catherine O’Hara) sends Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) to the attic and forgets him there. Stranded at home, Kevin must protect his house from burglars Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern).

Just ten years old when the film premiered, Culkin is an absolute joy to watch. He’s funny and sympathetic, which helps him carry the film that could’ve been awful if another child actor was in the role. Pitting him against the talents of O’Hara and Pesci makes him seem like a seasoned actor.

Final say: Don’t leave anyone behind. ★★★★★
